Gaza Educate Medics (GEM)
The ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip has posed significant challenges to the healthcare system, resulting in a shortage of medical professionals and limited educational opportunities for medical students.
PalMed Academy, along with individual educators, endeavors to establish a dedicated program to support Palestinian medical students in Gaza. Our aim is to provide them with the necessary resources, training, evaluation, and opportunities to advance their education and contribute to the future healthcare workforce in the Gaza Strip.
We want medical students to graduate and be a resource for the future of medical care in Gaza.
The Scheme aims to preserve the Medical Schools of Gaza (Al Azhar University Medical School & Medical School of Islamic University Gaza) and support the medical students to continue and complete their studies.
The funds raised will be used for the following:
1. Deliver teaching free to all the medical students in Gaza.
2. Cover the cost of clinical teaching in Gaza.
3. Support the living expenses of displaced clinical and nonclinical years students wherever they are.
4. Provide laptops and iPads for 2003 students registered with the scheme.
The annual cost of running GEM is £300,000 but we are looking to raise £30,000
